What is being reported
According to The Jerusalem Post, Anthropic, the developer of the AI assistant Claude, is preparing a listing on the Nasdaq. The paper cites a valuation of two trillion dollars and describes the move as the largest IPO in history. According to the paper, the company published a public prospectus four months after its confidential filing.
An Investopedia article in the source set also addresses how Anthropic makes money. However, from the excerpts available to us only the headline is visible; nothing reliable about its revenue models can be drawn from it.
Classification
If the IPO goes ahead at this scale, it would show how much capital is now flowing into developing large AI models. It remains open what governance rules a listed AI company would have to follow and how that would affect safety and development decisions. For German companies that use or are considering Claude, the relevant question is whether pricing, availability or contract terms could change as a result of a listing.
